Millions across Asia face extreme poverty, exposed to natural disasters and cut off from reliable, nutritious food.
Asia is home to over half the world’s hungry—where inequality, malnutrition, conflict, and disasters collide.
Anabia Story: A Mother in Afghanistan
Anabia, a mother of five, gave birth to her youngest child at home just two months ago. The closest health center is hours away—and even when reachable, it often lacks vital supplies and medicine. Ongoing conflict and relentless drought have made food scarce and survival harder.
“We’re both very weak,” Anadia says. “We barely have any food—just some rice, wheat, and flour. Nothing more.”
In her remote Afghan village, help came through Global Faith For Action’s mobile health and nutrition teams. They screened Anadia and quickly diagnosed her with malnutrition. She was provided with therapeutic food and fortified “super cereals” to support her recovery and help her regain strength.
With cautious hope, Nadia shares her dream: “I want my children to grow up, study, and help others. I don’t want them to live the life we’ve lived.”
Global Faith For Action provides lifesaving treatment to children suffering from malnutrition. We partner with local governments, parents, and communities to bring treatment closer to children and others in need. Our teams also educate people and encourage behavior change to help prevent hunger from occurring in the first place.
Our food security and livelihoods programs empower vulnerable communities to improve their access to food, income, and markets. We help small-scale farmers to incorporate climate-smart agriculture techniques, increase production, raise livestock, and grow more nutritious crops.
In conflicts and natural disasters, we improve access to clean water, safe sanitation, and good hygiene and provide cash transfers to help families buy what they need.
In India, Global Faith For Action health workers deliver nutrition treatment and counseling in clinics, communities, and even door-to-door.
